Illinois repeals switchblade ban!
Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner quietly signed SB 607 into law on August 11, 2017. The new legislation takes effect immediately and repeals the ban on switchblades in Illinois. However, if you want to buy and carry a switchblade / automatic knife in Illinois without breaking the law, you will also need to carry a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card. However, even with a FOID card, you will continue to be subject to local restrictions imposed by local jurisdictions (such as in Chicago and Oak Forest).
The sale of automatic knives to FOID holders is now legal in Illinois! Get yours today!
